Rapmullet reviews Smooth on 'HIP HOP CLASSICS VOL 8 RAP'
Yeeeessssssssssss! Smooth Denali's back with the 'Classics' series. Red Alert is holding down the hosting duties too, that's real big right there. The B-Boy edition jump off had me busting out my old routine from back in ' 87. Dimez knows what I'm talking about. This CD had me wanting to head up north and battle my boy DJ Reflex. You know I got that extra Grande "Poppin' Taco" style which would defeat all those head spins and flares Reflex would throw at me. I'm amped right now, someone grab the video camera, it's on.
Mixtape DJs don't drop like this man. Who's Denali's competition with this type of CD? I'll tell you, no one. B-Boys everywhere rejoyce, it's time to "Rock Rock Planet Rock". Aight, let me slow down a little. The "Din Daa Daa" blend was all fat laces and gazelles people. I was truley open when "A.E.I.O.U" dropped, fuck a head spin I think my head spun. If the bongos on "Pop Goes My Love" don't get you open then your the walking dead. "What People Do for Money" was my shit and the mix was crazy on that joint too. Malcom McClaren was a beast, "Buffalo Girls" take the cake for me though. Denali murdered the "Rock It" blend in true fashion. The Double Dee & Stein Ski mixes make this CD worth the listen, classic shit people, like the title of the series. Wayyyy too many joints on here to touch on. Shit is crazy.
Denali just served up a heaping pile of classic B-Boy history for that ass. I was buggin' doing the robot while I was making my daughter dinner listening to this man. Trust me if you remember any of these joints you will be acting a fool your damn self. Shit made me remember when hip hop was truely fun. You already know what it is people, four tapes and this CD will still be selling two years from now. (7-14-05)
